It’s why I’m skeptical the FDA will rush the vaccine too much, as opposed to an actual treatment. The vaccine will be taken by billions of healthy people. Safety is no joke. A treatment for severe cases is a different story, it’s a much smaller group, with much less to lose. We’ll see some record approvals in this space.

If anything, I'd say it was researched in a lab, not lab-made. Not from scratch, anyway.

@Loki said in How the curve is now being viewed.: @Copper said in How the curve is now being viewed.: Everyone (just about) underreacted before they overreacted. Then there was the panic. Sadly, we will never know how business as usual would have gone. But, I think, most will be absolutely positive they know exactly how business as usual would have gone. We do know that Florida and Louisiana were going to absolute disasters due to GOP leadership and suddenly they are doing great because one week of social distancing cured them. Those two states went from Prime Time to nowhere to be found overnight. Same leadership before and after.

Same thing here with Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati. Just too much crossover.

When this takes hold in Africa it will cut a wide swath of death. China will not be popular.

I got a sleek white one. But I paid 215. I didn't care. I saw the knockoffs on Amazon and they looked worse than fake. It was either burn masks (themselves bought dearly on eBay) or buy the thing.

@mark said in Calico was tough.: Oh man. Tough day. Good on you for not letting her suffer. Yes. This. Hardest part of having pets or animals of any kind, letting them go before they suffer needlessly. It's awful and necessary.

Well it wasn’t 175k jobs in NY of course. But the structural shift of retail and jobs of course when there are none for gig workers. None of this Covid was knowable but just probably stings a lot more now.

@Mik said in Drug Shortages: Why is propofol is short supply? It's short acting. I would not think it terribly useful in sedating intubated patients. George? Very useful - when given by infusion. You through gallons of the stuff.
